Nielsen has just issued its 2nd quarter State of the Media Today: Audio 2014 report. There were no surprises in the data, which show the traditional radio audience steadily growing towards a weekly reach of a quarter of a billion listeners. The new report puts the precise figure at 244 million, up over2million for Q4 2013. That?s more than 90% of all people 12 and over.
The latest edition of the report focused on details about Hispanic and African American listening. Here are a few of the findings:
? Over 93% of Hispanics listen each week; a little over 91% of African Americans are weekly listeners
? People in the 35-64 cells listen more than the younger cohorts, but the lowest level for any demographic was still over 86%
? 8 markets in America have more than 1 million Hispanic listeners each week.
